BOXYCHARM - September 2017
How Boxycharm works: (source) In each box you will receive 4 to 5 full-size beauty items (instead of the tiiiiiiny little samples) ranging from makeup to skincare, beauty tools to color cosmetics and each box has a value of $100 and up. Brands range from emerging to established, and you're guaranteed to find a few new favorites in each box.
Here's what came in my September 2017 BOXYCHARM...
Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick
I received this in the shade Littlestitious, which is described as: "You won't be superstitious but a littlestitious in this dusty pinky purple."
It seems to be an accurate colour description, I can't tell for sure, as I won't be opening this product at all. I don't enjoy this formula and I'd like to keep it unopened to pass it along to someone who will get some use out of it.
This liquid liptstick retails for approximately $6.00 USD and can be found on the colourpop website.
COLOURPOP ULTRA SATIN LIQUID LIPSTICK INGREDIENTS:
I've purchased MAC Eye Brows in Spiked in the past, it wasn't my favourite brow pencil...mostly because of the colour at the time and I didn't find it to be the most precise pencil of life. That was quite awhile ago, however, so I'm up for giving it a whirl again. Why not, eh?
This palette looks super warm toned on the Pur Cosmetics website. In person, however, it contains a few more neutral/cool tones as well. On first impression, it seems very nice. Pigmented, soft and buttery. I'll be posting a separate swatch post soon.
StudioMakup - Luminous Loose Blush
Would you like to own thee hugest, most giantest, biggest container of loose blush ever? Let me point you in the direction of StudioMakeup Luminous Loose Blush!...Oh wait...I can't. It's nowhere to be found on their website, (currently). Apparently this gigantic blush retails for $35.00 USD...(current conversion $43.19 CAD).
I've got to be honest here, while this blush is pretty, I can't imagine why anyone would need a whopping 7g loose blush...ever. Not even makeup artists. Definitely not the average consumer. I'd suggest a much smaller size, for nowhere near $35.00 USD. Just my opinion, for whatever that might be worth.
On a side note: if you were interested in this particular blush, there are small sparkles contained in it, that are just big enough to be noticeable with the naked eye. If you hate sparkles in your blush, steer clear of this one.
Described as: A convenient, uniquely designed brush that lets you adjust your foundation coverage to the drop for a perfectly seamless application.
This brush retails for approximately $35.00 CAD. The most convenient place to purchase, within Canada, would probably be Sephora. The brush is quite soft but I'm going to have to experiment with it a bit more to get a final opinion on it. I'm currently not enjoying the reservoir thing.
Described as: An intensive weekly treatment to restore essential hydration and enhance hair’s resilience and strength.
I'm all up for trying out a new conditioner that's silicone free.
Claims: This product is free of silicones, DEA, and artificial dyes. It is cruelty-free, color-safe, and safe for use on chemically-treated, relaxed, and keratin-treated hair.
Fingers crossed I enjoy it. Do you have any recommendations for silicone free hair care that you like? I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have!
