M.A.C Mariah Carey Collection 2016
We’ve long been dazzled by the chanteuse of the century. Now, Mariah Carey brings her impeccable glamour to a makeup collection that’s all you’ll ever want and a lot more, with sexy nude tones sparkling like champagne and glimmering like diamonds! The online-exclusive Lipglass in Butterfly Bling adds just the right amount of flash. Luxurious packaging in silver glitter with champagne gold accents and Mariah’s signature.
The collection included two limited edition Powder Blushes. I picked up one of the two. The blushes in the collection are described as: Two limited-edition shades in light candy pink and deep coral. Applies evenly, adheres lightly for natural-looking colour that stays all day. Luxurious packaging in silver glitter with champagne gold accents and Mariah’s signature.
Sweet Sweet Fantasy is described as a Deep Coral shade. It contains 6 g / 0.21 US OZ. of product and retails for $28.50 CAD.
The collection included five limited edition lipstick colours, in two finishes. I have two of the five shades. The lipsticks in the collection are described as: Five limited-edition colours in two textures. Features a butterfly embossed into the Lipstick bullet. Luxurious packaging in silver glitter with champagne gold accents and Mariah’s signature.
I Get So OOC is described as a Shimmering Brown, it has a frost finish. It contains 3 g / 0.1 US OZ. and retails for $25.00 CAD.
MCIZZLE is described as a Cool Peach, it has a Cremesheen finish. It contains 3 g / 0.1 US OZ. and retails for $25.00 CAD.
The two lipsticks that I have from the collection are mostly true to colour, however, Mcizzle applies a bit lighter than you might expect from what you see in the tube. Both shades are comfortable to wear, and MAC's version of a "frost" lipstick is never what you would think of as a "traditional" frost lipstick from way back in the day. Frost finishes from MAC lean more shiny/slight frost. My favourite of the two shades, that I have, would have to be I Get So OOC. I love browns. I've been wearing browns since High School...waaay back in 1995. Most of the browns in my collection are either matte or creamy, so this is unique for my stash.
Overall, this collection is lovely. I've ordered the Extra Dimension Skinfinish, it hasn't arrived yet. When I do receive it, I'll update this post with pictures and swatches. (**Updated above**) The packaging, alone, on this collection is spot on. The glitter is mesmerizing (haha) and it's a smooth glitter finish, in photo's, the glitter can take on a chunky appearance. But, in reality, the glitter is all underneath a coating of some sort. Most people will tell you that you have to see the packaging in person...and they're right. In person, it's beautiful.
If you can manage to get your hands on some of this collection, I'd recommend it. That is, if any of it speaks to you. It's all sold out online, even in Canada. But, you might still be able to find some of the collection, (online), at Hudson's Bay. Otherwise, you should still be able to find the majority of the collection at a MAC store, in person. It's worth checking out, if you live near an actual MAC store.
