SWATCHES (Eyelid) - MAKEUP REVOLUTION - THE EMILY EDIT - THE WANTS
Probably the palette I was most excited about in a very long time. I’ve been watching EmilyNoel83, (Beauty Broadcast), for years now. When I heard about this collaboration, I immediately had high expectations of Emily creating a palette that was well thought out and included everything you would need to complete an eye look, all in one place.
She didn’t disappoint.
An eyeshadow palette you’ll want to use everyday! Created and crafted with content creator Emily Noel, aka Beauty Broadcast, featuring 24 matte, satin and shimmer shades.
Emily said: “I wanted this palette to inspire but could also allow you to stay in your comfort zone. I wanted the perfect balance of light, medium and really rich dark shades. I want the colours to be buildable, so you can reach that level of intensity that you want. You can create countless looks and endless creativity.”
The Wants is encased in pale peach packaging with Emily’s signature in rose gold.

This palette retails for $20.00 USD, or approximately $26.00 CAD. I ordered mine through Makeup Revolution’s US website, with a few other items…it took a few days for it to finally ship out, but once it got moving, it arrived in two days. My parcel shipped via UPS and there were no taxes or duty fees on delivery to Canada. At least, this was my experience.
I’ve swatched all 24 shades on my eyelids, below. All photos were taken under 5000K fluorescent lighting. All shades were applied to a base, Shadow Insurance for the mattes and a tackier base, like glitter glue, for the shimmer shades. No other shades were used for each swatch. Powder foundation was applied at the brow bone.
All of these shadows blend very easily and I was super impressed with the deeper shades, the matte ones in particular. Dark & Early was the quickest and easiest matte black smokey eye I have ever applied. I’m old, (if you consider 41 old…) and I’ve applied many a black eyeshadow in my lifetime…this one was just so nice to work with.
The shadows have minimal kickback in the pan and I experienced near zero fallout under my eye when applying. These shadows are buildable and to achieve what you see on my lid swatches below, you will have to build them up, but this allows for much greater control on the depth you want. There is no fear in using these, unlike some other shadows that have been released recently…we won’t name names.
This is one solid palette and definitely worth the coin. It would also be a great choice, I think, for new-to-makeup beginners as well as the more seasoned applier. If the shades speak to you, I can’t imagine you’d ever be disappointed in this palette.
Emily did a fantastic job on this palette. Truly.
