Glossybox September 2016
C-VIT Moisturizing Serum, the full size, (30ml / 1 fl. oz.), retails for approximately $63.92 CAD. I received a 3ml sample which holds an approximate value of $1.41 CAD.
I have not yet tried this Vitamin C serum, as I currently have a full size Paula's Choice open that I'm using, and I'm not sure that I'll even bother trying this one out. I don't like the looks of the ingredient list, with Alcohol listed as fifth. And good ol' Parfum shoved in at the end. No thanks.
Even if the ingredients were pristine...3ml isn't much of anything, (to put it politely), to be able to determine if it's a product that you enjoy or even works for your skin.
Sensyses Liposomal Cleanser the full size, (200ml / 6.8 fl. oz. ), retails for approximately $26.73 CAD. I was sent a sample size of 15 ml / 0.5 fl. oz. which holds an approximate value of $2.00 CAD.
Hmmm...Isopropyl Alcohol, even that far down the list, doesn't impress me for a makeup remover/cleanser. It doesn't impress me in any skin care, in all honesty. And then to top off the giant concoction of ingredients with some parfum. Bonus.
This whole "Nanotech" in skin care disturbs me as well.
I can't see myself even bothering to try this out either.
Borghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Mascara, the full size, (8.5 g / 0.30 oz), retails for approximately $19.50 USD. I received a sample size of 3g / 0.1 oz. valued at approximately $6.50 USD.
Meh...non-waterproof mascara. No use for me. My straight-pointed-downward lashes just don't work without waterproof mascara.
From a description standpoint....where is this "curved" wand that they speak of?
As usual, I'll give it a try, but I'm not holdin' my breath that it'll do anything for me.
**UPDATE** Claims: Flake free, lift, separate and curl. This mascara flaked during application. As far as lift, it didn't drop my lashes as much as most regular mascara's, but by no means did it lift anything. Separate, yes, this absolutely does not clump up on application. The lashes were nicely separated. Curl...no. Not at all. It IS one of the best "regular" mascara's I've tried, if you don't have stick straight, downward lashes that require waterproof, I could see a lot of people really liking this mascara.
The packaging on the full size looks quite pretty though. But, the packaging won't hold a curl for me. Have you tried out this mascara? How did it work out for you?

Korres Rasberry Twist Lipstick full size, (2.5g / 0.09 oz.), retails for approximately $18.00 USD. The colour Charm is described as a soft mauve pink. I would personally describe it as more of a pink leaning towards coral, rather than mauve.
The formula does feel nice on the lips, but might be a bit too slippery for those that don't enjoy that type of lip product. It's quite sheer, and can be built up slightly, but by no means is it full opacity.
In the end, it's a twist up lipstick, that acts more like a tinted lip balm with shine and slip.
KORRES Rasberry Twist Lipstick Ingredients: HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2, BIS-BEHENYL/ISOSTEARYL/PHYTOSTERYL DIMER DILINOLEYL DIMER DILINOLEATE, SQUALANE, POLYETHYLENE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, TRIISOSTEARIN, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX, TRIMETHYLOLPROPANE TRIETHYLHEXANOATE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRAETHYLHEXANOATE, POLYAMIDE-3, MICA, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, FLAVOR, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE, RUBUS IDAEUS (RASPBERRY) SEED OIL, TIN OXIDE, CALCIUM ALUMINUM BOROSILICATE, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, CALCIUM SODIUM BOROSILICATE, LINALOOL, TOCOPHEROL, [+/- (MAY CONTAIN): TITANIUM DIOXIDE, IRON OXIDES, RED 7 LAKE, YELLOW 6 LAKE, YELLOW 5 LAKE, RED 22 LAKE, BLUE 1 LAKE].
ModelLauncher Eyebrow Pencil...in Taupe? This pencil retails for approximately $12.00 USD. I was sent the full size.
This brow pencil is extremely stiff and waxy. Some may really love that quality, and some may not.
The ingredients on the package do not coincide with the ingredients listed on their website. There is also no such colour as Taupe on the website. So, my first question would be, were these pencils re-formulated and we were sent the old junk? Actually, that's my only question. Dig it.
Phyto Paris Huile Supreme full size, (100 ml / 3.4 fl. oz. ), retails for approximately $40.00 USD. I was sent 30 ml / 1 fl. oz. with an approximate value of $12.00 USD.
I tested this oil out on a set of human hair remy extensions that were looking less than stellar. It did a beautiful job at smoothing and taming the extensions. It has a light scent, but nothing over powering. Keep in mind, that Alcohol Denat. is listed as the fourth ingredient. However, in this case, if it didn't contain that alcohol, all of the other ingredients, which are mainly oils and extracts, the product would remain quite wet/oily in the hair.
I would caution when spraying this on as a finishing/smoothing oil. You could easily go overboard and end up with greasy looking locks. Spraying it in your hands first and then dispersing throughout the hair can give more control as to where it goes.
I do like this product, if even only to use on my extensions/wigs.
PHYTO HUILE SUPREME INGREDIENTS: Coco-Caprylate, Zea Mays (Corn) Germ Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Alcohol Denat, Squalane, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Fragrance, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Lipids, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Hypericum Perforatum Flower Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Leaf Extract, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Limonene, Linalool, Coumarin, Geraniol, Tocopherol, Botanical and natural origin.
September 2016 Glossybox arrived with an approximate retail value of $68.08 CAD after current conversion rates.
This month's box was designed by Antonio Soares, and I have to say, the box itself was the best part. The illustration artwork is beautiful.
In the end, I wasn't feeling this month's products overall. It actually took me quite a long time just to get this post up, as I felt no real desire or excitement to write about it. So, I figured, the best I could do, was write the truth. The truth is, if I weren't subscribed to a full year, I'd have cancelled my subscription.
Did you receive Glossybox for September 2016? What did you think about your box??
