Glossybox February 2017
Let's see what came in Glossybox for February 2017...
Estee Edit - Pink Peony Overnight Water Pack
A moisturizing water-gel overnight mask enriched with fruit and flower extracts, antioxidants and mega hydration to smooth, brighten and revitalize skin.
What it does:
This water-gel mask delivers a power-packed punch of glow and hydration while you sleep. Pink Peony, Goji Berry, Blueberry and Cranberry soothe, smooth and brighten, while Hyaluronic Acid hydrates. This quick-absorbing gel glides effortlessly over skin and leaves skin radiant and baby-soft. Use it as a daily overnight treatment or anytime as a 15-minute hydrating and energizing mask.
I went to have a look on the box, at the ingredients of this pack...the ingredients take up three sides of the box. It's a lot of ingredients. Ingredients that don't necessarily blow my hair back. On some sites, this product also has a description that contains the word "innovative". I took the opportunity to look up and copy/paste the definition of that very word here, so you wouldn't have to.
(of a product, idea, etc.) featuring new methods; advanced and original.
I don't like when companies do that. It implies, possibly to unsuspecting, potential customers, that this product is actually "innovative", when in actuality, the concept of sleeping pack's has been on the market for a few years already, at the very least. This is not an innovative product. Let's just get that out of the way. That aside, I haven't tried this pack out yet, I might do that tonight, see how "innovative" it really is and update this post soon.
A sample jar of 7 ml was sent out, which has an approximate value of $8.12 CAD.
Description: A protein-rich nail coating that strengthens, seals, and protects.
What it does:
This "Suit of Armor" creates a sheer pink coating that strengthens and hardens natural nails so they grow beautifully long and strong. Its keratin-rich formula includes an optical brightener that filters out any yellow appearance in your nails, bringing out the natural color in your nail bed and making the whites of your nails appear whiter.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
Perfect Formula - Pink Gel Coat INGREDIENTS: Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Phthalic Anhydride/Trimellitic Anhydride/Glycols Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Camphor, Disodium Distyrylbiphenyl Disulfonate, Etocrylene, Formaldehyde, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Calcium Pantothenate, D&C Red no.6 (CI15850), D&C Violet No. 2 (CI 60725).
Pink Gel Coat can be found at Sephora, and retails for $38.00 CAD. I've only tried it as a base coat so far, I don't know how well this wears on it's own, as of yet, nor how well it strengthens/brightens/protects the nail. It dries quickly and works well as a base, I'll have to update this page once I've tried it a bit longer.
The full size was sent out in the Glossybox Subscription.

It's a white eyeshadow. Not much else to say about it, to be honest. Let's see... it's nice, it's soft, no fall-out, not powdery, blends nicely, it's very shiny. Shiny, but not glittery...this could actually work well for very fair/pale folks looking for a highlighter, now that I think of it. You'd just have to be a bit careful, as it is actually quite pigmented, but does leave a beautiful sheen to the skin as a face highlighter. So, I take that back. It's not just a white eyeshadow and there is more to say about it.
The full size shadow was sent out. $18.00 USD.

I received this same item in June of 2016 in my Glossybox. Meh. I don't tend to use water sprays on their own, or on bare skin, I should say. What I do like this water for, is using it as a makeup finishing spray, just like you would with fix+. Water accomplishes the same results as fix+, when using fix+ as a spray to get rid of powdery looks on the skin. Just keepin' it real.
This sample size has an approximate retail value of $4.67 USD.
JEANNE ARTHES - L'Eau de Rose
Description: Representing simple elegance, L’Eau de Rose reflects the sensual and modern woman. A refreshing and sophisticated composition for a classy and stimulating fragrance. A perfume which represents the delicate and seductive woman perfectly – An homage to romance and femininity.
Hmm...perfume's are such a personal product. It's hard to send out scents in a beauty subscription, and have everyone that received it love the scent. I don't love this scent on myself. It just doesn't blend nicely with my own chemistry, so I'll be passing this along to someone who does enjoy this scent and will get use out of it. The Mister doesn't like this scent on me either, for what it's worth. It smells like roses. Hence L'eau de Rose. But, it's not overwhelming, I don't think. It's a softer, more delicate rose scent.
This perfume was created for Glossybox, and has a retail value of $26.00 USD.
The total approximate value of this month's Glossybox comes to... $111.78 CAD after current conversion rates.
