The colour selection from this line is lovely, I must say. I chose 190 Blushed Petal in the hopes that it would be similar to my skin tone, but it ended up not quite working out that way. I don't particularly like this shade on me, as it makes my skin look even more pink than it is. Not the most flattering polish that I have in my collection. But, with the right skin tone, this colour would be beautiful, for sure. This colour also looked completely different in the store...damn you fluorescent lighting!
I can't comment on the claim of "improvement" in my natural nails, as I haven't worn this polish longer than 5 days (as of this writing), and since I'm not really diggin' this colour, I can't really see myself re-applying it again. At least on it's own. I'll probably use it in some nail art. Argan oil, (ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL), lands at approximately the 23rd ingredient in this polish. What that means as far as nails are concerned, when something like Isopropyl Alcohol is the 6th ingredient...well, you'll have to decide that for yourself. (Ingredients listed below.)
On the plus side, it hasn't chipped within those 5 days, so that's good.
The packaging won't blow your hair back or anything. It's a glass bottle with a poorly printed sticker on it. The silver on the plastic top is already looking worn, even though I just bought the bottle last week and it's been sitting on a table.
I guess the shape of the bottle is nice. I'll give it that.
As far as application goes, it's a fairly sheer formula (this colour, anyway) but somehow somewhat thick at the same time. It's minorly bizarre. The swatch pictures required three full coats in order to get a decent opaqueness, but because of the thickness, I was having issues with dragging and bubbling. Anything over two coats, for me anyway, is generally not a polish that I'd keep running back to. But that's just a matter of preference.
I decided to top off the colour with a matte top coat before I remove it, just to see how it might look. I have to say, that I prefer it as a matte polish.
I picked up Sally Hansen Color Therapy at Walmart Canada, for the full retail price of $10.97 CAD. Would I repurchase it again?... I might try a few other colours, but only if I happen to catch them on sale, in all honesty.
Have you tried out the new Sally Hansen Color Therapy nail polish? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them!
