M.A.C Look In A Box Face Kit / Natural Flare
This kit is described as:
A neutral-toned kit that features two Eye Shadows in All That Glitters and Raw Cocoa, Blush in Coppertone, Lipstick in Hug Me, Lipglass in Spice, Technakohl Liner in Graphblack and 116SE Blush Brush.
All That Glitters eye shadow is described as a beige with gold pearl. It has a Veluxe Pearl finish, and is part of MAC's permanent line. It can be bought separately in Pro Palette pan form, ($8.00 CAD), or in a single pot for $19.00 CAD.
Raw Cocoa...I'd call it a midtone brown with a gold shimmer. It has a Lustre finish. I can't find this particular shadow anywhere, other than in this kit. It isn't described as being exclusive to this set, however. It's a shame, because this shadow is really quite pretty. Depending on the light, it almost has a shift to it.
Coppertone is described as Peach Brown and has a matte finish. I'd personally describe it as more of a terra cotta colour. Coppertone is part of MAC's permanent line and can be purchased in pan form or as a potted single blush for $21.00 CAD and $27.00 CAD, respectively.
Technakohl liners are described as: A mechanical pencil-style liner with a soft and creamy formula and intense colour.
Graphblack is described as Rich Graphic Black. It's decently black and it's very soft. I haven't tested this out yet, though. So, I'm not sure how well it wears throughout the day yet. Technakohl liners retail for $20.00 CAD.
Hug Me is described as a Flesh Pink. I disagree with that. It's definitely much warmer and leans much more brown than that. It has a Lustre finish, which lends itself to being slightly more sheer. Hug Me is available as part of MAC's permanent line and retails for $21.00 CAD.
Spice (lipglass) is described as a Midtonal Neutral Nude. I disagree on this, as well. It's basically Hug Me in lipglass form. It's much more on the warm side, rather than "neutral". It's fairly opaque on it's own...so much so, that it basically covers up Hug Me lipstick when paired together. Spice is available as part of MAC's permanent line and retails for $19.00 CAD.
This kit included a travel size 116SE Blush Brush. I was actually surprised by this brush. I'm generally not a fan of MAC's travel sized brushes, or their limited edition brushes that come in kits, etc...but this one is actually fairly nice. It's soft, it does it's job and it's compact. I'm diggin' it. It's not available separate from this kit, it seems, and from the reviews I've read on the full size 116 Brush...it seems to get mixed reviews. The full size 116 retails for $42.00 CAD. (insert squinty side-eye here.)
I like this kit, overall. The products are actually all quite warm toned, in my opinion. Not so much "neutral", as they describe it. I've bought a few of these kits, and I'm fairly happy with all of the purchases. The value is definitely there, if there was a kit that interested you, I'd recommend, for sure.
Have you picked up any of MAC's Look In A Box kits? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them!
