This cream retails for $24.95 CAD (50 ml) on Marcelle.com. They currently have a launch promotion on their website for $5.00 off. You can also print off a coupon, if you wanted to purchase it in-store instead.
We received a 7 ml sample size, with an approximate value of $3.49 CAD. I can't really speak to all of the claims that this cream has, as I did just receive the sample. "Brightens skin complexion after the first application"...I can agree to that statement. Even the boyfriend agreed, which has to say something about the product! As for the rest of the claims, well, that would take some time of using the cream to determine for sure...but, what I do like, so far, is the lightweight feel of this cream and the texture of it. It's reminiscent of a gel, but not completely. It's almost gel-like, but not...if that makes any sense at all...
I'll be purchasing a full size of this, I do know that. It plays well under makeup, at least the foundations that I have tried on top of it. Once I test out the full size for awhile, I'll make a full post on my conclusions.
BV Spa by Bon Vital Body Lotion
BV Spa Body Lotion claims:
Lightly whipped and fast absorbing spa quality body lotion formulated with moisturizing extracts and 100% pure essential oils leaves skin well-nourished and smooth. KEY INGREDIENTS: SQUALANE - has a moisturizing effect on skin. This vegetable based extract can help prevent free radical damage that causes the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin to help reduce appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. JOJOBA OIL - closely resembles human sebum, is well accepted by our skin, great for moisturizing. SUNFLOWER OIL - is high in the essential Vitamin E and very emollient. Paraben, Sulfate, and Phthalate Free. Not tested on animals.
This body lotion is available at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. The full size, 8 fl. oz., (236 ml), retails for $11.99 CAD at regular price. We were sent a sample size of 1 fl. oz. (30 ml), giving it an approximate value of $1.50 CAD.
I was sent the Pink Grapefruit scent, which does smell lovely. It's a fairly light scent, but by no means undetectable. They say that this lotion is "Level of Hydration: Moderate". I don't know about that. This lotion absorbs extremely well in to the skin. Zero greasiness whatsoever. However, it isn't enough moisture for my skin. But, the skin on my body might actually have come from actual crocodiles, I'm not really sure. If you don't require a TON of hydration, then I'd say check this lotion out. It really is nice, and I can't say enough about the absorption level. It's great!
This lotion can be ordered online at beautyboutique.ca

With a name that just rolls off the tongue....>.> this spray retails for $29.95 USD. The full size is 4 fl. oz. We were sent a sample size of 1 fl. oz. with an approximate value of $7.49 USD. This spray has a lot of big claims... but with Polyquaternium-7 and Trimethylsilylamodimethicone as the fourth and fifth ingredient, (listed below), I won't be testing this out on my own hair. What I will do, is test it out on some wefts of hair/extensions and see how it performs on those, then report back. I'm not overly impressed with the ingredients overall, in all honesty. I might wear a mask while testing this on my extensions.
Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-7, Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetrimonium Chloride, Amodimethicone, C11-15 Pareth-7, C12-15 Pareth-9, Fragrance (Parfum), Trideceth-12, Glycerin, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Leaf Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Polysilicone-15, Octinoxate, Morinda Citrifolia (Noni) Juice, Hydrogenated Moringa Oil Esters, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citric Acid
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD claims:
Developed specifically for the film and TV industry's most advanced technology, Ultra HD Liquid Foundation creates a naturally flawless complexion—in and out of the spotlight. Invisible under the latest, super-focused 4k lens, this revolutionary foundation features uniquely-coated pigments that provide medium to buildable coverage with an even lighter weight, second-skin texture that looks just like skin. This formula leaves your complexion with the same flawless results that you’d achieve with a flat foundation brush in a tap and stretch motion. It contains hyaluronic spheres to ensure comfortable wear on all normal, dry and combination skin types, and it lasts all day, leaving a natural-looking finish. Now available in an expanded range of 40 shades to match all skintones, Ultra HD is the perfect everyday foundation for a flawless complexion—and it doesn’t require touch ups.
I have the full size of this foundation and have been using it for quite awhile now. I do like this foundation, however, on oily skin it can be tricky. I have combination skin, and in the oily areas, it can tend to break down a little sooner than I would like. Is this foundation invisible? Well, in one word, no. But, it does sit nicely on the skin, and from a normal standing distance, it's relatively undetectable. Regardless, any foundation could technically look cakey, if you apply 63 heavy layers of anything, you're going to see it. With two light layers of this foundation, I can achieve a fairly full coverage, but again, it does not last the entire day with no touch-ups, like it claims.
The full size of this foundation, (30 ml / 1.01 fl. oz.), retails for $52.00 CAD at Sephora. We were sent a sample size of 5 ml / 0.16 fl. oz. which holds an approximate value of $8.67 CAD. The colour I was sent is waaaay too dark for me, but if I mix it with my usual colour, I can make use of it.
I've swatched the sample colour along with my usual colour below, just for comparison and reference. The colour swatches were taken in fluorescent lighting.
Bonus Unilever Trends Box
TOPBOX for September 2016 has an approximate retail value of $23.52 CAD, (after current conversion rates). Does that blow my hair back? No. Where the additional value comes in for this month, is in the "bonus" box that was sent out to everyone...which contained all samples from Unilever. However, I'm reviewing this as just the Topbox subscription itself.
The only product in this month's subscription box, that I will make most use out of, is the Marcelle cream sample. So, this month, (without the "bonus" box), is an overall "meh" for me. Can't win them all.
Did you receive Topbox for September 2016? What did you get in yours and did you like it? I would love to hear your thoughts!
